1969

Michael Shepherdson establishes Shepcote and begins trading in sugar. Shortly after the company begins to manufacture handmade marzipan confectionery on Church Street, ‘Driffield.

1970

Shepcote start to supply Fortum & Mason with Almond Marzipan Petit Fours (Marzipan fruits)

Dec 29

1973

Shepcote supply the sugar piped roses for the wedding cake of Princess Anne and Captain Mark Phillips

Dec 29

1975

Shepcote marzipan fruits selected for Concorde flights

Dec 29

1976

First large export order to Finland

Dec 29

1981

Shepcote became key supplier of sugar, at short notice, for the Falkland’s campaign

Dec 29

1983

Richard Shepherdson joins Shepcote and in 1994 becomes the companies Managing Director.

2001

Shepcote celebrates the extension of its operation in Church Street, ‘Driffield with three generations of family members and opens its first nut free packing room.

2001

Shepcote shortlisted for the National Dried Fruit Award

2003

Shepcote become ‘approved supplier’ of marzipan confectionery to the Royal Collection with retail outlets at Buckingham Palace, Windsor Castle and the Palace of Holyrood.
